Fireside Chat: Unlocking Innovative Capital for Construction Advancement

Allivate Impact Capital® CEO, Noelle St.Clair Lentz, joined other expert practitioners in the fields of blended capital and small business lending to discuss the barriers to innovate such products and the mechanisms needed to unlock greater capital flows into the region’s construction economy. The panel explored capital sources and financing models needed to leverage solutions for the advancement of construction entrepreneurship and a flourishing regional economy.

This fireside chat was part of the Capital Access in City Construction Procurement event presented by the Capital Access for Real Estate & Construction Forum hosted in partnership by the Economy League and SupplyPHL. This collaborative convening aimed to address the following goals:

  1. Advocate for targeted public investments to spur development and business growth in the construction industry.
  2. Attract and pool private investment and philanthropic capital to innovate and scale research-backed products and mechanisms that enhance capital access for entrepreneurs at different stages of growth.
  3. Develop and fund key partnerships and blended capital models that can facilitate this innovation.

Behind the Curtain: Unlocking Value, Impact & Affordability in CDFI Capitalization (Chicago, IL)

During this interactive session our Managing Director, Daniel Galindo, joined other leaders for a fireside chat to discuss how to appeal to investors, align on impact requirements, and drive mutual value generation on deals. Low-cost, flexible capital is crucial to the CDFI business model and as it becomes more difficult to access, the industry finds itself in an environment that requires continued agility to navigate.

This session was part of the OFN's Small Business Finance Forum in Chicago, IL, June 13-14. The 11th annual forum brought together over 500 mission-driven small business lenders, partners, and advocates for a day-and-a-half of learning and networking that supports the shared goal of helping our nation’s small businesses succeed.

2024 National Interagency Community Reinvestment Conference

Our CEO, Noelle St.Clair Lentz, shared her expertise as a panelist discussing challenges and innovative strategies to increase the supply of affordable housing across the nation at this year’s National Interagency Community Reinvestment Conference (NICRC) in Portland, Oregon.

At this signature conference for community development leaders, attendees shared ideas and best practices to create new opportunities for impact through community loans and services. Attendees also learned about current regulatory processes, and the revised Community Reinvestment Act regulation issued in October 023.

Chicagoland OZ Consortium’s Investment Showcase

Our Managing Director, Daniel Galindo, will be participating on the Investor Panel as a mentor for Chicagoland OZ Consortium’s upcoming Investment Showcase. During the showcase early-stage small businesses focused on Opportunity Zones will be pitching their business ideas to an experienced panel of experts. Chicagoland OZ Consortium facilitates connections through matchmaking, education and technical support to attract investment that helps create quality jobs, build wealth, and promote equitable development in Opportunity Zones located in Chicago and suburban Cook County, Illinois. The COZC is facilitating the Investment Showcase to elevate up to six local early-stage businesses that participated in local incubator/accelerator programs.

Atrium Court Groundbreaking Celebration

Our CEO Noelle St.Clair Lentz spoke with other leaders at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Atrium Court in Seattle, WA. This is a socially and environmentally impactful project bringing 271 affordable workforce housing to Seattle's Othello neighborhood. Beyond housing, the project will foster community with thoughtfully designed retail spaces for locally-owned businesses, creating a vibrant hub for residents and neighbors alike.
